Configuration and Data Management Specialist III
LaunchPoint EPS is seeking a Configuration and Data Management Specialist with experience working with technical publications and formal document control. This position is focused on the planning, coordination, preparation, and quality checking of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications, proposals, and contract data (SDRLs & CDRLs) to ensure customer requirements are met. You will review and analyze various forms of engineering data and coordinate changes with program management, engineering, quality, and manufacturing activities. You will also help create templates for customer-facing documents and establish best practices for the document control function.


The selected individual will need to be a detail-oriented contributor with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain focus throughout the review of complex documents. They will have the responsibility of preparing and reviewing partner facing communications and data deliverables to ensure that they will represent the LP organization in a highly professional manner once published. These communications will be with external stakeholders such as customers and suppliers, as well as internal stakeholders such as Engineering, QA, Operations, and Purchasing.

What You’ll Do
Working closely with Program Management, be responsible for managing contractual data, establishing and maintain compliance with customer’s CDRL/SDRL delivery requirements and schedules
Working closely with Engineering, be responsible for release and change management of documents in a controlled parts library, ensuring consistent application of Configuration and Data management policies, processes, and best practices
Working closely with Business Development, support proposal preparation in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) and developing white papers, product descriptions, and other customer-facing documents
Maintain master schedule of data deliverables and drive internal teams for content and reviews to ensure high-quality document and data delivery within prescribed deadlines
Ensure the quality, accuracy, consistency, and compliance of technical documents and templates with relevant standards, customer data item descriptions (DIDs), best practices, and LP’s Quality Management System
Input data into configuration management systems, ensure complete and accurate records, facilitate the correction of any errors or missing data.
Manage master records of program, engineering, and proposal data deliverables for accuracy and ease of retention and retrieval
Analyze proposed engineering changes to determine effect on overall product and system
Interface with technical staff to read, interpret and translate engineering drawings, specifications and other complex technical inputs for inclusion in documentation
Work as part of cross-functional team to accomplish technical writing assignments
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in document and data markings and data rights
Continual improvement of documented processes, practices, and procedures as it relates to this job function
Other functional support as assigned to assist the execution of engineering activities

What You Need
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, technical communication, or a related field, and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or
Graduate Degree in a related field and a 6 years related experience
In lieu of a degree, 12 years of prior related experience will be considered
Ability to understand and interpret contract requirements, especially Contractor Data Requirements List (CDRL), and manage CDRL deliveries
Strong analytical background with the evaluation of requests for proposals and/or contract SOWs
High proficiency in publication tools, software, and platforms such as Microsoft Office (Word, Visio) and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Highly Desirable Competencies
Demonstrated skills using MS Excel as data process tool
Knowledgeable with defense aircraft contracts, products, processes, and tools.
Working knowledge of and experience implementing EIA-649, National Consensus Standard for Configuration Management, and/or GEIA-859, Data Management, as they apply to hardware development efforts
Experience implementing a program for controlling program baselines and work products
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio), MS Office Macros (VBA), and/or relational database languages and tools
Experience writing and/or editing press releases
Experience with video editing

Salary and Pay Transparency
Salary range for this position is between $77,000 and $127,000. Base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and all applicable company benefits.
